STORY #1: THE GOOD SAMARITAN~ A nun of the GOOD SAMARITAN order who works at a St. Vincent dePaul center in Sydney found a man sleeping in a car park one evening. She brought some blankets & made him as comfortable as possible. Next morning when she checked on him, he was obviously ill. She opened her purse; it contained only a $A5 note and some small change. She called a cab and gave the driver the note to take the man to the hospital. That afternoon as she was parking her car at the centre a starling began fluttering about over the bonnet. It had a piece of paper in its beak which it dropped near the car. The nun picked it up. The 'paper' was an $A5 note. STORY #2: THE MAGIC-DIAL EFFECT ~ [[THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES!]] Jim & Jane worked in a 'booking office' together but today was Jim's day off. Jane was doing swimmingly by herself until the fax machine went on the blink....She decided to call Jim but she read the wrong column and dialed his 6 digit payroll number. In the center of Dover a pay phone rang and, hearing it as he walked past, a curious young man could not help picking up the receiver. 'HALLO?'[[Must be that British accent!]] 'Oh Jim,' a female voice apologized. 'I'm sorry to trouble you, but the fax is on the blink.' The young man was staggered. 'Jane! How did you know where to find me?' Jim, out shopping on his free day, had taken the mis-called call....like in THE MAGIC-DIAL EFFECT??? XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX BELIEVE IT OR NOT, THERE ARE OTHER STORIES JUST LIKE THIS, OR EQUALLY BIZARRE....IF YOU WISH TO HEAR MORE OF THEM, JUST EMAIL ME VIA THE CONTACT PAGE....IF A 'JIM' RESPONDS TO YOUR EMAIL, ~ IGNORE IT!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx SHROUD IN PLANK OF WOOD? A short one page piece came from Janet Bord's book, "THE WORLD OF THE UNEXPLAINED", where ~ on the same day that the Turin Shroud was declared a fake,(November of 1988) a plank of wood being used for a kitchen cabinet at Bacup, in Lancashire, UK, seemed to resemble the face on the shroud.[[IT HAS BEEN DEMONSTRATED SINCE 1988 THAT THE TURIN SHROUD IS ANYTHING BUT A FAKE, AND MAY VERY WELL REPRESENT THE DEPICTION{{NOT PAINTED}} OF A MAN CRUCIFIED IN THE FIRST CENTURY A.D.]] READING DIRECTLY FROM THE ACCOUNT ON PAGE 161 OF BORD's BOOK, THE FOREMAN COMMENTED: "I've never seen anthing like it. I was about to cut it when a ray of light shone onto the wood. I knew immediately it was something special. And it appeared on the day experts said the Turin shroud wasn't authentic. I called my workmates over. They couldn't believe their eyes." The plank later survived a fire which destroyed the premises. [[THIS IS COINCIDENCE #2 SINCE THE SHROUD OF TURIN, ITSELF, SURVIVED A FIRE.]]After the face came to light, it was reported that there was also a face of Christ (in fact 20 faces) in the wood panelling of a shoe-factory office in Bacup and it was believed to cure the sick. [[COULD THIS BE NOT A DOUBLE COINCIDENCE, COMPOUNDING THE FIRST TWO?]] A partner in the firm reported that when his ulcers were hurting he would go and sit in the office for half-an-hour and the pain would go away.... [[FOR THE CURIOUS, IF YOU GO TO THE ILLUSTRATED BOOK,(DETAILS CAN BE FOUND ON WEB PAGE:"WEIRD THINGS",) YOU WILL SEE AN ILLUSTRATION OF THE SHROUD IN THE PLANK OF WOOD.]] |
